The Russ Hill Hotel is around ten minutes from Gatwick Airport on the outskirts of the quiet, country village of Charlwood. The village itself has a few basic shops and some popular, traditional pubs.
Because the Russ Hill Hotel is surrounded by nine acres of countryside, there is no noise pollution from the airport traffic or main roads around Gatwick. London is also within easy reach by car or by public transport. The Gatwick Express train runs directly from London Victoria every 15 minutes and takes just half an hour.

The hotel transfer service is a shuttle bus that runs conveniently on the hour, every hour (except 3am), 24 hours a day. From 3:30am until 8am, transfer run every 45 minutes, as these are the most popular times to be travelling to the airport. At the time of writing, the transfers were just five pounds per adult and two pounds fifty for children.
Parking packages at the Russ Hill Hotel are for 8 or 15 days. Guest cars will be parked onsite at the hotel’s own car park, or will be taken to another secure site and returned to the hotel on your return. Check in time is from 3pm and guests must check out by noon.
Returning to the Russ Hill Hotel after your holiday is a simple case of catching the transfer bus to pick up your car. You will need bus G4, which leaves from stop number 12 at the South Terminal, and stop number 8 at the North Terminal. An added bonus is that the journey from the airport to the hotel is completely FREE.
The Russ Hill Hotel is quite a large 19th-Century manor house with 130 bedrooms, including family rooms and Honeymoon Suites. Because of the hotel’s period design, each of the rooms is unique in some stylistic way. However, all the rooms have been furbished for a completely fresh and modern feel.
All rooms are equipped with either a bath or a shower (either can be requested), television, direct-dial telephone, tea and coffee-making facilities, and hair-dryer.
The Russ Hill Hotel has a restaurant and a lounge bar, both serving a range of fresh meals and light bites. The bar also has its own spacious, green, beer garden to relax in on warm evenings, as well as Sky Sports in the bar area.
Food is reasonably priced and the restaurant has quite a wide selection of good food. There is a carvery available at weekends, and if you just prefer something simple, there are also more informal options such as burgers and fish and chips.
